At Canadian Surrogacy Community we are lucky to say that we go through a lot of pregnancy and ovulation tests. It never sat with us well that we were contributing to using so much single use plastic. Ovry as a partnership just made sense. Still use pregnancy tests without all the extras. You can have a kit delivered directly to your door and they have many options in the type of kit you choose. We are happy to announce a partnership with MyOvry. Order it directly by using our discount code.

Starting a family is one of the most significant and rewarding experiences in life. However, the path to parenthood looks different for everyone and there’s no right way to do it. Gone are the days when traditional family structures were the only accepted norm. Today, more and more people are embracing diverse family building options, including the use of surrogates and egg/sperm donors to grow their families.
These alternative paths to parenthood have opened up new avenues for people who may have thought they couldn’t have a child or start a family. At Ovry, we support people through their reproductive journey whether they’re looking to conceive, preparing for an egg retrieval, supporting a surrogate, or trying to avoid pregnancy.
What’s Ovry?
Ovry is a reproductive care company for the modern world. We offer the highest quality pregnancy tests, ovulation tests as well as a male fertility test.
Our pregnancy and ovulation tests are strip-format tests, meaning they are tiny, discreet and don’t have any of the excess plastic or electronics like traditional drug-store tests. All while providing the same (if not better) accuracy.
Unlike big-brand tests, Ovry strip tests are sold in bulk and average around $2/test vs. $20/test. Our packaging is intentionally neutral, our instructions are straightforward and you’ll never see babies on our boxes. Plus, they are proudly made right here in Canada!
We strive to make reproductive care accessible to all people, no matter their background or financial situation. Our high quality reliable test strips provide a more affordable and convenient option for people with ovaries.
How did Ovry start?
Due to a blood clotting disorder, Ovry co-founder Jackie Rhind couldn’t use most hormonal birth control options growing up. Her experiences of spending a significant amount of money on pregnancy tests only to be relieved by the negative result were too many to count–not to mention all the awkward pharmacy checkouts that came with it.
After learning about the high markups on store-bought pregnancy tests, Jackie became determined to establish a trustworthy brand that would offer more accessible and convenient reproductive care products. Through market research, she found that many people like her experienced regular pregnancy scares or were deterred by the cost or stigma associated with buying a pregnancy test. With a mission to provide accessible and reliable reproductive care products, Ovry was born.
What is the Male Fertility Test and how does it work?
Nearly 50% of all infertility cases are linked to issues with sperm, and yet the burden of infertility often falls disproportionately on the shoulders of those with ovaries. We want to change that. The Male Fertility Test is an easy to use at-home test that detects lower than normal sperm concentration in semen, which is a leading indicator of male infertility. When used correctly, this test delivers results that are over 99% accurate and consistent with laboratory testing for sperm concentration.
With the intent to identify possible barriers to conceiving early on, the Male Fertility Test aims to bring partners with sperm into the fertility conversation sooner, save time and frustration and hopefully increase chances of conception. After all, it takes two to tango and the sooner you know about an issue the sooner you can address it.
Who are your tests for?
Ovry provides testing options for those in all stages of their reproductive years––not just if/when they’re trying to conceive. Less talked about are the often many years before and after conception where people are trying to avoid pregnancy, and as a brand, we recognize that. Therefore, our products are for anyone that needs them: people trying to conceive, folks trying to avoid conception, egg donors preparing for egg retrieval, people wanting to learn more about their cycle, surrogates post-transfer, you name it.
It’s none of our business why people use our tests, we just want to be able to offer people a better and more accessible option.
The decision to start a family is a deeply personal one, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you work with a surrogate, use an egg/sperm donor or choose any other family-building option, what matters most is that you’re able to create a loving and nurturing environment for your child. As society continues to evolve, so too do our perspectives on family, and it’s essential that we embrace and celebrate this diversity. By opening up our hearts and minds to all the possibilities available, we can create a world where every individual has the opportunity to experience the joy and fulfillment of parenthood, regardless of their background or circumstances.
