We met on Bumble five years ago. Lucy jokingly calls our dating period “courtship,” inspired by her love of British period dramas. We exchanged one-sentence messages each day in what Lucy describes as courtship resembling a “painful constipation.” Tim eventually asked to meet, and Lucy replied, “That’d be alright with me,” a line still quoted when people ask how we met.

At Tim’s suggestion, our first date was in Brantford, halfway between London and Toronto. On the drive there, Lucy questioned why modern dating had to feel so complicated. Then she met Tim, and everything felt easy. We later discovered we had crossed paths years earlier while both completing Chemistry Master’s degrees at the University of Toronto.

After countless weekend drives, we got married, building a life grounded in humour, loyalty, and showing up for each other. Due to serious health reasons that make pregnancy too risky for Lucy, we had to turn to surrogacy with humility and deep respect.

We are both introverts, though Lucy becomes incredibly animated around people she loves. She is observant, quick-witted, and often makes ridiculous faces or sounds just to get a laugh. Tim is steadfast, endlessly patient, and quietly appears after long days with flowers, takeout, or Costco groceries.

One of our favourite memories is Tim’s birthday trip. Lucy planned a surprise getaway, and at a rest stop on the 401, Tim opened a card revealing flights from Detroit and game tickets and completely lost it. It was especially moving and meaningful, as Lucy’s medical challenges were at their peak during that time.

Life has tested us, but it has strengthened our bond. We have learned resilience, gratitude, and how to find joy in imperfect moments. If you choose to walk this path with us, we would do so with openness, respect, and immense gratitude. We are strong together, deeply hopeful, and have so much love to give.

While nobody has accused us of having a crazy house, we do love to throw the best murder mystery parties you can imagine. They sometimes even involve pirates and even our dumpling-wrapping parties can get messy. But we’re just two guys (and hopeful future dads) with big hearts and playful spirits, who dream of welcoming a child and a surrogate to grow our family.

We’re Bob and Charles, a gay couple who feel lucky to call Vancouver, BC their home.  During the week you will find us making dinner together at home and relaxing after work. On the weekend we love to host games nights or a murder mystery party. Our social circle is important to us and the friends we have are like family. We enjoy sharing our time with them over dinner or catching a theatre show, but their presence in our home is really the most important part to us.  Bob loves to spend time on the tennis courts, while Charles is likely to be found playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.  We would love to share these and other experiences with our future child.

We started the process of having a family four years ago.  We dreamed of our kids growing up with our friend’s and extended family’s kids, but we’ve learned that life doesn’t always match the timelines we hope for.  An opportunity came up for us to buy a home and we debated.  Do we put our dreams of a family on hold while we buy a home? We learned that there’s always something to do to set things up ever more rightly for a child.  Now, we feel we can offer a child a beautiful home and a friendly village of aunts, uncles, and kids to be a part of.  We understand surrogacy is a deeply personal and intimate gift.  We’re so thankful that there are people like yourselves who help the dreams of others. We know this is a deeply personal decision, and we want to make sure this works for you as well both during and after the surrogacy. From the very beginning, we’ve known that families are created in many ways. Leah was adopted, and that experience shaped our belief that love — not biology — is what makes a family real. That perspective is why surrogacy feels right for us: we don’t just accept it, we embrace it wholeheartedly.

Our own story began with a little fate and a little strategy. We actually matched on Bumble twice — the first time, our match expired, but the universe (and the algorithm) gave us a second chance. From our five-hour Zoom first date to sitting in a park at sunset while a live band set up behind us, it’s always felt like our love had a soundtrack.

Leah likes to say she’s 47% weird, and Jason’s job is to make up the other 53%. Together, we’re 100% laughter, adventure, and heart. Our life is full of playful traditions: Secret Dinner Saturdays (including a living-room Thai picnic proposal with string lights and a ring hidden in the Christmas tree), Overcooked video game battles, and road trips chasing sunsets and cider. But laughter alone didn’t build our family. Leah has a heart condition, a history of pulmonary embolisms, and early menopause. Together, that means carrying a child isn’t an option, and treatments like IUI and IVF didn’t work for us. Accepting those closed doors was hard, but it also guided us toward surrogacy — the path that gives us real hope of becoming parents.

Our home is full of joy, snacks, far too many decorative bells (Leah’s quirk), and a love that is equal parts silly and steadfast. What’s missing is the sound of little feet, bedtime stories, and the beautiful chaos only a child can bring.

We are high school sweethearts—but our story began even earlier. During a ski lesson, a ski fell from a chairlift and struck Ashley. Michal, warming up in the chalet, heard about the strange incident. Years later, as we grew close, Ashley recounted that day—and Michal realized he had been there and heard all about it. That shared memory became the spark for our story.

We’ve been together through every chapter since—university, medical school, and the demanding pace of residency. Our bond has been a constant source of strength. When we turned our attention to starting a family, we faced heartbreak: years of infertility, followed by a pregnancy through IVF. Our daughter, Arden, was born prematurely and very ill. We spent five precious days with her in the NICU—holding her, changing tiny diapers, singing her Disney songs, and telling her the story of how we met. She was deeply loved. After those days together, she passed away. Healing has come slowly, with the support of therapy, family, and friends, and we carry Arden with us in everything we do.

Since then, we’ve undergone additional embryo transfers that were unsuccessful. With resilience, gratitude, and deep love, we are now hoping to grow our family through surrogacy. This journey has taught us patience, perspective, and how meaningful it is to hold onto hope.

Family is at the center of our lives. We spend weekends with our parents, sharing meals and simple joys. Ashley gardens with her dad; Michal trains our lovable, trick-performing pup, Hudson. We hike, forage, cook, and cherish time with our nephew and friends’ children. We’re adventurous, curious, and full of hope. From diving in Thailand to hiking in Norway and skiing out west—we love exploring the world and can’t wait to share that joy with our future child. We remember that our wedding vows included love and honour, but we decided early on to replace “obey” with “tease” and “make laugh.” Around our house, it’s never safe to be the first one up the stairs. It almost always ends with a surprise butt poke from the person behind, delivered with impeccable timing and great satisfaction. Arthur, our beloved dog, has been the star audience for the Tom & Timea show for the past three years, patiently enduring our made-up songs, movie reenactments, and the occasional Law & Order style interrogation: “Exactly WHO ate the pita off the kitchen counter? WAS IT YOUUU?!”

We are Tom and Timea, husband and wife, best friends, and intended parents. If you get to know us, you’ll quickly discover a home filled with love, laughter, silliness, and joy. More than anything, we dream of sharing all of that with a family of our own. We just need a little help getting there.

We met in 2019 while working as Special Education teachers. During the most romantic time in recent history, the COVID pandemic, we became best friends and eventually husband and wife. While most teachers worked from home, we, along with a handful of incredible support staff, continued teaching students with disabilities in the only occupied part of an otherwise empty high school. It was a surreal experience, but also one of the happiest seasons of our lives.

Outside of work, we escaped on late-night drives with the windows down, music playing, and bubble tea in hand. As the world felt uncertain, we found certainty in each other. Before long, we were engaged, found our home, and began dreaming about the future we wanted to build together.

We’ll save the more difficult parts of our story for our full profile, but there is one thing we hope you know now. More than anything, we want to become parents. After creating our embryos, we are ready for the next step and hold onto hope that someone special will choose to walk this journey with us. Why are you reading our story today? Perhaps because, like us, you believe families can be built in many beautiful ways as long as it’s grounded in love and a deeply held desire. For us, it also takes an extraordinary woman like you to help make that happen.

We have always wanted to be fathers, from quite a young age. One of us is the son of a nanny and the other a brother to a sibling eight years younger, so caring for kids was part of everyday life and a genuine source of joy. Those experiences shaped how we see family and gave us a deep sense that raising a child is something we are meant to do.

But our path to parenthood has not been straightforward. Coming out as gay was not easy, and for one of us it meant years of bullying and learning to accept that building a family might look different than expected.

Everything shifted when we met 9 years ago in Paris. We quickly discovered how well our differences balanced each other. Cyril brings creativity and energy as a singer (of mostly Céline Dion’s songs!), while Maxime is calm and grounded, a surfer who finds peace in the ocean. The foundation of our relationship is empathy and communication, and early on we spoke openly about wanting children.

After three years, we moved to Barcelona. Life there allows us to stay close to nature and community, two things that are very important to us and that we hope to share with a child one day, in a stable and joyful environment. Our mornings often start with walks under the palm trees with our labradoodle, Sunny, and on the weekend we love to spend time on the beach with friends and their children, when we are not trying new recipes in the kitchen.

Being involved in the lives of our three godchildren has only strengthened our desire to become parents. Watching them grow and supporting their mothers during pregnancy showed us how much strength and commitment motherhood requires.

Surrogacy, to us, is not just a process but a shared journey, grounded in trust and mutual understanding. We aspire to build a respectful and supportive relationship with our surrogate, hoping that we can maintain a close bond even after the birth of our child. Because we work remotely, we can travel to Canada and be present for important moments if that feels right for you.

Bart is an adventurous, playful soul. He’s the dad who’ll push you off a SUP board laughing, clicks with kids instantly, and turns ordinary Tuesdays into adventures. He brings lightness and joy into everything. Valters is our strategist and questioner. He’ll ask ‘why’ five times to get to the real answer, then research genius fixes. He’s always up for a challenge – the next mountain, the next hike, the next leap. We recently hiked the Himalayas together – proof he means it. Together, we’re active and outside whenever we can be: rollerblading on sunny days, pushing for marathons, hitting 150kg deadlifts at the gym. But more than that, we’re intentional about life. Professionally, Bart manages finances for cultural and hospitality organizations – keeping beautiful spaces thriving. Valters uses his science PhD to help bring new treatments to patients. We’re both committed to work that matters, and we’ll model that for our child.

Years ago, so much felt impossible. For Bart, his first real relationship; for Valters, rebuilding after moving continents and a heartbreak. But together, we found our possible. We’ve discovered what it means to partner with commitment, honesty, and genuine growth. Becoming parents could also be part of our story. Every day, we’re learning to be better – for each other and for the child we hope to welcome. Becoming parents through surrogacy is the next chapter of our story. Our child will grow in a supportive, joyful world: Dutch bike-friendly streets, weekend escapes to local parks and playgrounds, regular meetups with their cousins and trips to Latvian forests. Nothing suggested that our paths would ever cross. Daniel lived in Montreal’s east end, while Jean-Sébastien lived in the west. One day, Jean-Sébastien came across Daniel’s Facebook profile and sent him a friend request. Daniel accepted, and what began as a simple conversation quickly became something much more. We chatted every day until we finally met on a beautiful summer day in 2009. Seventeen years later, we are still each other’s best friend and greatest source of support.

We love travelling, music, cinema, theatre, cooking, and spending time with our dog, Zola. Together, we’ve built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and love. Yet through the years, we always felt there was one dream still waiting to be fulfilled: becoming parents.

We have now reached an exciting milestone in that journey. We created ten embryos, eight of which were PGT tested, and knowing they represent the possibility of the family we’ve dreamed about fills us with hope. More than anything, we want to share our lives with a child. We imagine bedtime stories, family traditions, vacations, birthday celebrations, and watching the world through curious little eyes. We hope to raise a child who feels deeply loved, encouraged to explore their passions, and supported in becoming exactly who they are meant to be.

Daniel works as an International Affairs Advisor in the public sector, and Jean-Sébastien is an Office Technician. While our personalities are different, they complement one another beautifully. We are both curious about the world, love discovering new cultures and perspectives, and find joy in the little moments. Most importantly, we have built our relationship on kindness, respect, honesty, and unconditional support.

We know every surrogacy journey is unique, and we would love to learn what this experience means to you and how you envision the relationship. Our story started in 2017 with one of those rare, instant connections you don’t question… you just follow. What began as quick phone calls somehow turned into hours, park dates stretched long past sunset, and two lives that quietly but completely intertwined.
Since then, we’ve built a life rooted in connection. Through every season, including the one we all lived through in 2020, we kept choosing each other. We moved in together in 2019, married in 2022, and a few years ago made the move from Toronto to Sudbury, intentionally choosing a place where we could slow things down and build our family. It’s been the kind of shift that’s brought us closer, not just to each other, but to the life we want to create. Our home has become a space that’s always open, full of laughter, shared meals, and time with family, and we’re ready for the next layer of that. With so many nieces and nephews in our lives, we’ve already experienced how full and fun family can be, and we’re looking forward to having that in our everyday.

Becoming parents isn’t just the next step for us, it’s something we’ve grown into over time. It shows up in how we care for the people around us and in the relationships we’ve built. We’re intentional about checking in with each other, making sure we’re moving forward in a way that feels right, and supporting one another through it all.
Kevin works as a Consultant and Social Worker supporting racialized, underprivileged, and 2SLGBTQIA youth. Joey works in aviation management. On paper, we come from very different worlds, but those differences have shaped how we show up, with empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for others.

Once upon a time, Mom and Dad crossed an ocean for you. At least, that’s how we hope to start the story one day.

We’re Pauline and Anthony, and a little over a year ago, we packed up our life in Belgium and moved to Canada with one clear intention: to start building our family through surrogacy. It felt big, exciting, a little scary, and somehow completely right. The decision says a lot about how we want to live: giving meaning to the things we do, creating memories worth keeping and being proud of the stories we have to tell.

We have been partners in life for five years. Anthony’s world is architecture and Pauline’s is fashion, two worlds where you imagine and create what doesn’t exist yet, something that feels particularly meaningful as we shape this story too. Pauline brings emotion, creativity and attention to the little details; Anthony brings perspective, curiosity and slightly more reasonable decision-making. Somewhere in between, we’ve built a life we love.

And from the beginning, there has been Nino, our blue-eyed Birman cat who travelled from Belgium with us and naturally expects to be involved in all major family decisions. He is very excited about meeting our surrogate and, one day, our future baby. We asked. He said meow. We’re taking that as a yes!

Pauline was born without a uterus (MRKH) and has known since she was 17 that she wouldn’t be able to carry a pregnancy. Becoming parents, however, has always been part of the vision. Rather than focusing on what couldn’t happen, we chose to put our energy into what could be created together.

Today, our embryos are ready, we’re here, and maybe this is where our stories start to meet. Our ten adorable nieces and nephews are still relentlessly demanding more cousins to play with, and they’ve been at it for years now! 💛 It’s been over four years since we started our surrogacy journey, and more than a year actively looking for the amazing person who will help us grow our family. We are Arnaud and Ben, and we’re incredibly excited to share our story with you. Our adventure started a decade ago with a simple swipe on Tinder… don’t laugh! Arnaud was just about to leave Paris for a job at Chanel in London, and Ben was about to study engineering in Boston. We began with a long-distance relationship, much like the journey we’re about to take with a surrogate. Eventually, we both returned to Paris and now live together in charming Montmartre. Our life today is filled with love, laughter, shared dreams… and plenty of baguettes.
We’re both food enthusiasts (so consider yourself warned if you ever cook with us!). We love discovering new places, cultures, and cuisines. Arnaud is passionate about Broadway musicals, French classic literature, and countryside getaways. Ben loves cooking (currently perfecting his soufflé), swimming, and James Bond movies.

You know that moment when your best friend grabs your hand at a concert and suddenly everything clicks? We’re Kay and Sami—seven years ago we went from best friends to life partners, and it’s been the best shift either of us experienced.

As young boys, we both told our moms the same dream—we wanted a village of kids. When we shared that story early on, we laughed, but we also knew that as a same-sex couple, having a child would take determination and hope. We grew up in big, loud, loving families—the kind where everyone’s crowded in the kitchen, talking over each other, and there’s always room for one more. That’s the warmth we want to recreate. With everything happening in the world, we first looked into adoption, only to discover both adoption and surrogacy are illegal for us in the Netherlands. Then we learned about Canada’s altruistic surrogacy approach, and something resonated deeply. The idea of sharing this life-changing experience with someone generous enough to help us—in such a deeply personal way—felt just right.

Who We Are

We’re beautifully opposite—Kay’s the sweet, honest, endlessly curious Dutchman who’ll turn a coffee date into a museum visit and check how you’re feeling between gallery rooms. Sami is the quick witted international Arab with a big open heart. He asks questions you haven’t thought of, then helps piece together the answer. What we share? We always have a joke ready to keep perspective and make each other laugh, especially when life throws you curveballs.

Kay’s a pediatrician specializing in kids with gut problems—he takes “gut feeling” way too literally. He’s stockpiling an absurd collection of band-aids and stickers that our future kid will absolutely raid. Sami runs a food business with his brother, helping talented makers bring their creations to life in professional kitchens. Translation: Our kid will actually believe us when we say vegetables are delicious.

What We’re Hoping For

We want to bring our full selves and complete openness. We want to be there for everything: the tough moments, the amazing ones, that first kick. Our romance began like many did before Tinder; we had to face the elements and hit the town. It was 2011, Liz was and is by nature a politely shy person, at the time I would have been the loud one in the group! I have my doubts that I was her ideal candidate that night, but after our ride home got stuck in the snow for 3 hours it gave me an ample opportunity to convince her otherwise. The road that has led us to surrogacy has helped us become the people we are today. Our journey has given us a positive outlook on life and we have learned to live our lives to the fullest each day.  We want to grow our family and share that love and adventure. Liz was diagnosed with end stage renal failure at 14 and received a kidney transplant 6 months later.

While our fertility journey has been ongoing, we have always spoke of the possibility of surrogacy if Liz was not able to carry.  We have had 5 losses, three natural pregnancies and 2 through IVF. While we have tried everything that we can to date, I unfortunately cannot carry our babies to term. This is where we need you to help us grow our family.

Being farmers we, both have a love of the outdoors, nature and travelling.  We converted a van into a camper and love to explore Ireland in it.  I (Liz) enjoy crafting and crochet with a hot cup of tea on our camping adventures. Peter enjoys fishing even though he has only caught 1 fish to date! When we are on our adventures we often say out loud how amazing this life would be to share it with our babies While we often think of what could have been if all 5 babies made it earthside we look forward to a future and the hope that surrogacy can bring to us.

Last year we began building our forever home on our family farm and we can picture our babies running through the house toys everywhere, the sound of laughter and the joy that they will bring. While at the moment our farm is sheep, I need some help to convince Peter that we need some goats, chickens and donkeys! We cannot wait to get into our new home surrounded by nature and continue our love of the outdoors, nature and growing our family.

If someone was to ask us what we would dream of for our future we would picture us with our children still enjoying our adventures around the world and lazy days on the farm.

Our journey has been filled with many twists and turns. Not long after we got married in 2017, Maryrose was diagnosed with a pre-cancerous condition of the endometrial lining called Atypical Endometrial Hyperplasia. This condition makes the uterus a “hostile” environment for an embryo. Besides making it hard to conceive, it also increases the chances of the hyperplasia turning into endometrial cancer. In March of 2022, Maryrose suffered a potentially life-threatening bi-pulmonary embolism. We were fortunate to work with an amazing team of doctors who helped navigate Maryrose’s condition until she was eventually cleared to return to fertility treatments.

Despite our best efforts, we have experienced one failed IUI cycle and three failed embryo transfers. In August, we were hit with the bad news that the EH had returned. Throughout this journey, we have been transparent with one another about how far we would feel comfortable trying to conceive through IVF. We knew that the day would come when we would look at each other and say, “It’s okay to ask for help.” Our journey may not be as straightforward as some, but we wouldn’t trade the strength and resilience it has given us for the world.
Through our unwavering support for one another, and our friends and family who have been there every step of the way, we believe we are finally where we are meant to be—on our surrogacy journey. With that, we open our hearts to you. It is humbling to think that you are reading this profile, and you may be the missing piece we’ve been looking for to grow our family.

Sidenote: We had a wonderful surrogate choose us in 2025 and due to personal factors in her life, she could not commit to our journey. We are hopeful that someone new will see the amazing parts of us and our previous surrogate is happy to share our relationship that still exists today.

What started as a university relationship turned into a life together. Over the years, we’ve built our relationship on a lot of laughter, honesty, and genuinely enjoying being around each other. Fast forward 16 years later, we still enjoy the same things – trying new restaurants, being active, traveling when we can, and spending time with our boxer, Leo, who we fully admit we treat like our child!

Mike is a Sales Leader at a tech company and is the kind of person who can talk to anyone. Melissa is an elementary school teacher and always knew she wanted to work with kids. Becoming parents has always felt like the natural next step for us.

The reality, though, has been a lot harder than we expected, but it’s made us stronger as a couple and more certain about what we want. Choosing surrogacy feels like a hopeful and positive step forward, and we’re incredibly grateful to even have this path.

Outside of all of that, we really do enjoy life together. We both enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors – whether that’s golfing, running, yoga, or taking long walks with Leo. Summers at the cottage are a big part of our lives, and some of our favorite memories are just being there with family and friends. We both grew up in big families, and that’s something we’ve always wanted for ourselves – a home that feels full, supportive, and connected. We don’t have children yet, but we’re ready. Not in a perfect, everything-is-figured-out way – but in a real, excited, and “we can’t wait to love this kid” kind of way.
